The Background
We were approached by Capita in 2021 to create an inclusive assessment approach for their new Technical Consultancy apprenticeship programme, with a particular remit to improve the diversity of the consulting division which at the time was 95% white and 80% male.
The Outcomes
Using the CoActive Assessment approach, Capita exceeded their target intake of Technical Consultant Apprentices and achieved 60% B&ME (20% Black), 40% female and 20% neurodiverse hires with a 97% retention rate.
Capita was so impressed with the results and quality of hires they asked us to create an approach for their Pensions Apprenticeships, and we not only improved the quality of hires into this division, their annual attrition rate shifted from 80% to 20% for this cohort.
The Feedback
From the offset, Mari was passionate about levelling the opportunity for young people with limited experience...Mari led the team to define an attraction and assessment process that selected individuals based on their potential, behaviours, attitudes and motivation.

It is truly refreshing to come across a business that challenges mainstream recruitment practices and genuinely looks to balance the hiring needs of an organisation whilst providing a candidate with the best possible opportunity to showcase themselves, regardless of background. I have first-hand experienced this in practice as a recruiting organisation and the candidate feedback was overwhelming. Even those who didn't receive a job offer stated how it had helped their confidence levels and belief that some organisations do actually care about the candidate. Trust in the process!
